I Stayed in this hotel back in early March and while there, I didn’t realize what a gem this place was.

Recent travel to Hamburg, Munich (3 different hotels), and Berlin has shown me this is an excellent facility.

I had an initial problem with my room and within 15 minutes staff arrived with a new room assignment and to assist in moving. From there, the entire stay was just about perfect. Lounge and Bar – Excellent. Restaurant & Breakfast, excellent. Lobby, entry, Lifts, etc… Excellent.

Some say hindsight is 20/20 but in this case perspective says it all.

An excellent facility, a well trained and high performance staff, and excellent service. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for!

Located centrally next to the high end shopping street, opera house and UBS building.

Check in was average speed, friendly. Concierge and the foyer Interior is stylish.

Room:515, good size and stylish – grey and black lined carpet with mustard chairs and brown plush curtains. Coffee machine available as mini bar fridge. The tv is hidden away behind an art work. Sheets are very nice. View of the park. There is a Lack of accessible bed level power points within reachable access and have to move the side desk. Lack of usb ports also disappointing.

Bathroom design is nice with a corner sliding door off mirrors so with the door shut it looks like a wall of mirrors and it allows it to be opened up. The step up to the bath is high and will be an issue for elderly or those with restrictive mobility or hip movement. Coming out was a hazard again with the high step down and almost slipped on the wet tiles thankfully for the towel rain next to the door! Separate commode room.

Gym is down two flights of stairs- functional with a few weights and cardio machine and water cooler.

Pool was an amazing size- Possible 50meters at the same level at the gym and spa.

Breakfast was good: good selection of breads and meats. The fruit selection could have been better. The coffee : cappuccino was good but the second order came more as cafe latte and was too weak and had too much milk!

The cooked breakfast selection was good but the quality was below average- the egg royal: the bread was soggy with salmon cut to thick and the poached egg being over done and only have one egg. The sweet/ pasty selection was poor. Complimentary MCC/ Sparking wine accompaniment.

Excellent all around. I received a warm welcome and greeting from 10+ people within minutes of entering the property. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived in the morning, so the front desk staff member suggested I have breakfast on the first floor. She also gave me suggestions for nearby shopping.

I decided to have breakfast first, which was outstanding. Alina (I may have gotten the name wrong) in the restaurant was FABULOUS. So kind and generous, and a lovely human being. She and the entire staff at this hotel are excellent. Whoever manages this hotel and is in charge of training deserves a raise. Every aspect was impeccable, and I felt every person took the time to make me feel welcomed. Was much needed after a long and distressing flight.

I was upgraded to a beautiful room. My only regret is I’m not staying longer. But I will be back!
